Thinglink: Ocean currents

We have been exploring Thinglink and using it to create content wich other people can use to learn from.
This Thinglink is about Ocean Currents
3 things I learnt about ocean currents are:

1.  Ocean currents have nutrients and oxygen
2. Cold salty water is denser then fresh water.
3. Thermohaline currents are caused by temperature and salty water.

  1. Morena Jamie,
You have learnt some amazing facts about ocean currents!
Your labelled diagram is done in a clear way, but I do wonder why do you think cold, salty water is more dense than freshwater?

  2. Good morning Jamie,
Hey Jamie I think you just made my morning with your incredible information about ocean currents, this information is incredible compared to mine because your one more factual information.
I wonder how else currents are made I wonder if you could find that out, it would be interesting to find out more about ocean currents.
Yours and mine look the same except we have different colors for our icons, but your one is the best one yet.

  3. Kia ora Ms Kingston,
Why I think cold salty water is dense then fresh water is that the salt in the cold water is heavier than the fresh water, the fresh water is lighter than cold dense salty water. So that causes the cold dense water to remain at the bottem of the ocean. Do you have any other questions about cold dense salty water?
